So? Largely Mopar auto stuff, so that's cool with me. It seems like kind of slim grounds to bust a seller on, particularly when there's a considerable amount of musical instruments in the mix, mostly brass.

Hasn't this been around the block at least once before a month or so ago?

It's on you tube. .. Basically a public forum. I don't remember Jon saying he doesn't like gig bags, though.

Yes, it "sold" for $500.00 over list, suppose he paid the FVF?:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60269

And now two listings for the same horn:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 1058315106
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291141354904

Just noticed also that with 30,855 feedback items, the seller's rating is only 96.8% - looks like a good one to stay away from.

Interesting.

Has anyone else noticed that:

1) The "ended" listing doesn't mention a dented bell, and doesn't have a photo of a dented bell.

2) The second (current listing) shows AND mentions a dented bell.

3) BOTH listings are from the same seller ("South Georgia, United States" ...who EVER says "I live in South Georgia." ?

and, 4) Jonathan Hodgett's himself is in the bell's reflection taking the photo of the dented bell!! How do I know it's him? Look at the bottom bow of this other photo of the tornister from before the fancy 360° image went up. (Also look at ANY photos on Wessex' website where you can see the photographer's reflection). It's obviously the same location and photographer as the dented bell photo.

I downloaded everything for when this post disappears.

I am sorry for offending you nycbone.
I was simply trying to cut through the noise with a little bit of common sense.

I think maybe the sale of a non dented, brand spankin' new tornister (by a seller people seem wary of) that was immediately followed by the sale of an entirely different dented one (by the same seller though) who's description begins with a sentence that looks like something Jonathan would write... i suppose THAT combination is what piqued my interest.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time with my honest gig bag review and astute observations that Mr. Hodgetts may be selling through (or hiding behind) a not-so-well-rated (proxy?) seller on ebay named "dmaley."

I feel I am particularly on topic this time.

This is my final tubenet post.
Sorry for the intrusion.
take care.

Let me just confirm that the seller on eBay has nothing to do with anyone at Wessex Tubas. Of course any Wessex buyer is free to later sell the item they have bought, even at a profit if they can.

As the same tuba seems to have been listed twice, first time as perfect, and then second as damaged, would indicate to me that it got damaged in shipping after first sale.

The weight of the Mighty Midget for its size does make it susceptible to bell damage in shipping if great care is not taken. To minimise risk in future, we are introducing foam bell plugs to protect. Useful to buyers if they later fly with the tuba.

Rats...

I was hoping to get a bundle deal for the Dodge Challenger rocker panel and Bathmate penis pump along with my next brass instrument purchase from Wessex.
