Is this a King or something else?

Neat looking horn. Looks like short-action valves. Anyone know what this is?

Yeah, I've bought stuff from them too. I actually just got a new horn, but kinda wish I had money to get that one too. Looks great.

These one piece recording bell horns were made from the 1920s through the early 50s. This looks like a 1930s vintage horn because it has the cross hatched valve caps. I have seen these in Eb and in BBb. They are generally decent playing horns.

I recently bought an old York Master, and it's pretty solid horn. I estimate it needs about $200 worth of work to be tip top shape playing wise. Would I be better off investing that in this horn?

This is a King model 1240 probably built in the 30's. The bell is not detachable. 22" bell... 45 1/2" long... 24 pounds 10 ounces. Listed in the 30's for $260 in satin silver with a bright bell. $20 more for a 4th valve. The case was an extra $55. You could specify two bores... .687" or .750" (same price). I think the one pictured is a .687" but that is just a guess.
I have the Eb four valve version. Nice horn! (it's the one in my avatar!) If I didn't already have a stable full I would buy it.
