I believe that the Horiman museum in London has all of the period Besson, London records.
You should be able to ask them exactly with the #.
Here is their surviving instrument record so far.

If you can read that serial number, your eyes or your software are much better than mine. It looks Eb to me, the little double bend below the 4th valve.

Yes, I realize this is not the same horn Phil Cat played. It it probably even smaller and more out of tune, which adds greater authenticity. That reminds me, I need to pull up my pants.

That's a great photo of RVW and Phil Cat. I think RVW needs to carry a comb.
His pants are pretty flashy, eh? My great grandfather wore pants like that.
