I have heard it said that the older Cervenys are better than the newer. Is this you experience? Anyone? Do the older ones have thicker brass?

I had a brand new 686-BBb in 1997 and it was a fantastic horn. I wish I would of kept it! In 2005 I bought a brand new red brass 681 like the one in this thread and it was the most lifeless tuba i've owned that was in decent shape. You are right on the lack of tone color on the newer horns.
