How can a brass instrument be a "great player" without a main tuning slide? :roll:

When you put a tuning slide in an instrument, you're admitting right there that it isn't perfect.

More like tuning slides are needed because of temperature changes, tuning to other players/groups, etc. It's also good to have tuning slides to empty condensation as it's not ideal to have water keys on every slide. And tuning slides are easier to repair in case of damage, and so on and so on...
