This Hanstone tuba
might be a German-made VMI/B&S tuba like the famous 'Sonora' tuba:

....but I'm not totally sure. Could also be an early Chinese copy. The rotor linkages & paddles
could have been replaced. But I think the telling point would be if the mpc receiver had "Made in Germany" or "Made in GDR" on it or not. But even if it is a Chinese copy, the price is right

I'm 99% certain that horn is a knock-off of the most copied tuba in The World. Might be OK but it certainly isn't 'just like a Yamaha'.

The seller has "upped" the BIN price to $1,500.

It
was $900.
I agree it is probably an early Chinese copy; especially now with bloke finding out that there is no "GDR" or the like stamped anywhere on the instrument.
Yeah, I searched that thread before creating
this thread. Doesn't really help that some in that old thread think Hanstone tubas were German, and some think they were Chinese.

Kinda like 'Sanders' tubas........most of the older ones were made by Cerveny/Amati, some by B&S, and the later ones were Chinese-made (Jinbao?).

There are a few souls out there in TubaLand who think Schiller tubas are German!

Others say that many Schiller tubas are labeled "American Heritage", so they must be American
