His dimensions appear to be a bit out of proportion. .807" bore is pretty good size for a 14 1/2" bell.

This design idea was very common in the past. Actually it doesn't affect the sound materially. It's first in later years the wider bells have been popular.

A modern version of this horn is Melton/Meinl Weston 197 which also has an unproportionally designed small bell.
I've read this horn is designed from a pre war II tuba, found by Melton and strongly supported by Walter Hilgers, former tubist with German Brass.
Nevertheless it's a true kaiser and very popular among several highly respected pros.
