Do Miraphone Sousaphones even exist? To my knowledge they are still working on their prototype. And who is this guy anyways? He seems to have a ton of refurbished instruments for sale.

That's Ed Stregge at Badger State Repair. He ought to know if it's a Miraphone or not because he has one of the largest stocks of Miraphone parts in the US.

I played on one all through high school, small horn compared to the Jupiter 594 we also had and the 590 i marched in college. Great player though, i loved it.

Looks like you probably did that in 2002, for the record. Memphis beat Miraphone U. 79-73 in the quarterfinal round of the NIT that year.

I recall seeing an ad for a 4-valve Miraphone sousaphone some years ago. It may have been a stencil (Jupiter?).

In the 70's, Miraphone sold rotary valve sousaphones under their own name. I have gotten varying information as to whether they actually built those. My 4v Eb Miraphone Sousa is for sale at Baltimore Brass.
In ~1976 Miraphone in CA had 4 to sell, 2 BBbs and 2 Ebs, 1 each 3v and 4v. I ended up getting the 4v Eb.
