The short answer is "it depends".............HuffPuffTuba wrote:How much do these normally go for?
I got mine (not the one pictured) for a total of less than a grand. It needed some work- the bell was crinkled and I had to flush a trumpet mute out of it- but was otherwise in good shape. The one pictured is in far better "as-is" shape and is silver rather than lacquer, so it would go for more, though obviously not as much as that seller was asking. This is a very good small BBb horn.

This seller is banking on the "Famous Player" effect. "Howard Johnson played one of these so, if you want one of these and don't want to pay MW's silly price, pay this silly price".HuffPuffTuba wrote:How much do these normally go for?

Re: Mahillon BBb
The seller does not give a dimension but says that it is a "Meinl-Weston bell". No other measurements given.Donn wrote:A probably older one on hornucopia says 17 3/4 inches. .625 bore.tmz1m wrote:How big is the bell on these?

Re: Mahillon BBb
The seller's story lines up with others - the bells were always from Meinl. I suppose if the auction listing had given the bell measurement, then tmz1m wouldn't have asked?
