A couple sketchy aspects...draw your own conclusions. 4 of these up right now.

It's a scam. Whenever they tell you not to bid, but to contact them first, it's a scam.

Unless this is a matter of stolen identity.... this listing is by Borodi Music near Cleveland. He's legit and actually very good at refinishing instruments. Nikki Borodi runs the Internet side of the business.

I get a Borodi listing at the top, when I follow that link - but it isn't the listing in question, right? That is gone as of earlier today, maybe quite a bit earlier? and what you get now is just a general selection of semi-related stuff that matches "conn", "sousaphone" etc. Did Borodi really have a listing up that said "contact us before bidding"? I bet not.

It looks like it might have been a hacked account, but the original listing when I looked at it was for a Conn 20K sousaphone. There was only one picture and it was slightly out of focus and the description said "I will not take less than $1100, contact me to buy it at this price" or something along those lines.

You don't happen to remember if that was nikkibor123456, with 491 positive feedbacks etc.? That's what I'm saying - I'm sure the initial posting was a fraudulent 20K ad, I'm just expressing some question as to whether any Borodi account ever was involved at all.

Curious about this - I went to Cleveland to test and eventually buy at the Borodi shop. They were nice guys but I know they've had some questionable eBay activity in the past (the horn I bought was mysteriously relisted at a higher price after a TubeNetter was outbid). I know they run at least a few different eBay accounts with good feedback.

I don't think it was. I remember their feedback being in the 1100 range. I don't remember the name.
