Wow. That is a big ole bell. Your favorite word comes to mind, Joe: diffuse.

24" bell  8)
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

If I had space for a tuba, I'd go for it, but I wouldn't aim for a like-new bell, just get out the creases and straighten it out. Otherwise it looks in pretty fair shape from the photo, wonder if there are issues inside. Later model, like '60s? Not as sought after as the older top valve models? but I'd bet on this over whatever the 3V equivalent would be to a 36J. If it can be made to work.

24" bell is awesome to shade yourself from stage lights.
Martin Mammoth sure has a cult following, on track to be pretty expensive for a 3 valve with cancer of the bell.

But the 4/4+ 22" bell on this one doesn't have cancer (large tightly wrinkled swaths). Might look pretty good coming off the roller?

The size of the upper bow is amazing. I had the recording bell, top action version years ago. It was nimble for its size, and could sound like a church organ playing bass parts. Martin made some very high-quality horns.

Tuba like this and Conn Monster 22" look like a rabbit with too big ears.

Martin ended up going pretty high. Don't see those every day though.

3 umbrellas i think. And one a beach style umbrella. But last time i tried to use one, it had a broken stay, came off its handle, and frankly i don't usually mind the rain...

Oh, you were talking about a large bell tuba? Then that's different.

This is similar, but not quite as big? Perspective and scale always kinda throw me for a loop.

And a buy it now/best offer scenerio.
