Cool old Reynolds Baritone / Euphonium in LA

Post by daktx2 »

It looks to be in awesome shape, with a low price! I've never seen a 4 valve one like this.

Cool - contemporacorner.com says '36-'49, 0.560 bore. According to that account, when they started with their Contempora brand, they left the 4th valve behind for a while (and went to front valves.) But there's a model with the same tuning "kicker" you see on their tuba, and the 4th valve comes back in later years.

Equivalent performance to ubiquitous American front action euph?

Rick Denney has one of these and is not very favorable. His does have a wonky leadpipe though.
