$850+ in shipping seems a tad high.

Well... Actually... a rep from CMC would fly to China, play test and inspect each tuba, have the bell etched, and hand seal each box with a signature over the tape*. .......
I've seen maybe a half-dozen or so of these horns and all were quite acceptable.

Where's the "Like" button?

... and for $630.45 methinks that Lance Armstrong should personally deliver it via bicycle.
American sailboats, airplanes, banjos, guitars and flutes ...
Italian motorcycles and cars ...
German cameras and tubas ...

Say what you will; In its current condition it's intonation is at least much improved... :P
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

For that shipping, a buyer roughly in the southeast could drive to Orlando, stay over night, take your kid to a theme park (or do whatever you do in Orlando), stay over night again, pick up the tuba, and drive home and spend no more money.

Road trip! Heck, the case is worth something. I'll let y'all know how bad it really is if I get it. :)

Isn't this tuba a copy of the B&S 'Sonora'? That's a good tuba design, and I'd think if everything is 'fixed up' properly, this could be a good tuba :!:
