Interesting stencil. It does look like it could be of Cerveny origin. :tuba:

Except that it is made in Germany.

The consensus here (in a thread that I am now unable to find) from people who actually knew the brothers who owned the "La Sete" brand was that they imported parts and assembled instruments in SoCal. One of those folks had purchased a NOS tuba that was identical to this one from one of the owners, another IIRC had worked for them.

But in any event, not Cerveny.

Where I live any tree that someone doesn't recognize is a "poplar tree" - seems that here on tubenet any unknown Euro style tuba becomes a "Cerveny tuba". Since most European tuba designs started life as copies of V.F. Cerveny designs, that it probably more apt then the "poplar" attribution. :D
