I enjoy these Distin horns with their stamped engraving in the ferrules, braces, and bow guards. I played a valved trombone tonight that's marked 'Beau Ideal - Chicago' but I'm pretty sure it was made by Distin because it has the same engraving treatment.
Information on the Distin instruments is pretty sketchy. I'm not so sure some of them weren't made in Europe or England... just judging from some of the braces on my instruments that seem to have a lot of Besson influence.
