My Muni band owns the recording bell version of this horn. We had a female tubist using it some 20 years ago and she really liked it. The conductor is a tubist and has used it for a few outside in the summer solos/duets with the band type numbers and I know he really liked it as well. Actually preferring it over his recording bell front action Martin Mammoth for those concerts. I never picked it up and played it so I can't add any personal opinion. I'm sure it's currently buried in one of the storage rooms of our performance center. I'll have to dig it out and try it for grins.

I used to own one - it was a very nice-playing horn, but the circle was so tight that I'd get cramps in my elbow and bicep from the angle my arm was at while playing it.

Really enjoy mine. 17" bell, tiny bore, most fun instrument I have ever owned.

One of the Ebay ones looks like the larger model. Never tried one, but hopefully it tunes better than the tuba equivalent.
