Seriously, most plastics can be repaired either by reactive (chemical) or thermal (heat or welder) means. It would help if we could find out the type of plastic used.

I'm thinking that the closest to a plastic tuba I would ever want to get is one of the Kings. Based mainly on Lawrence's videos. But I sure wouldn't trade my 1258 for one.

Yeah, Doreen always gets the spotlight (I think Lawrence likes it that way) but IMO Lawrence is killer.
An old video of Lawrence providing most of the tuba in this video of his mentor, the late, great Anthony "Tuba Fats" Lacen. Love his graceful recovery of a finger button starting around 4:25
