what is needed on eBay:

When searching "tuba" on eBay, there simply is neither enough worthless crap nor enough new instruments offered at everyday prices.

30% new stuff at retail prices (WHY would you pay ebay fees on that)
20% indian garbage
10% busted-up stuff from Germany ect
15% totally non-tuba
10% made in chyna
1% hoaxes to off-site

What? You wouldn't want the biggest size tuba with lowest pitch made of pure brass???

Or a double belled sousaphone?

I'm still able to find the occasional bargain. Just takes tweaking keywords and patience.

You all are obviously better at detecting the OP's sarcasm than i am.

I think i am okay with the amount of stuff i'm not interested in. It keeps it challenging, and there is mildly the hope that i might notice something others don't (or just don't care about) and thus get it cheap.

If i think about it, i am mildly bothered by "what others who looked at this also looked at" listings, but if i really cared, i 'd looked at more of the double bell sousaphones..."

On that note, i found this intriguing French listing because of that:

Meh, not everything is perfect yet.

wasn't even counting but probably nailed it - those would be the conceivably playable. Including the overpriced, the undesirable models, the scary-levels of repairs needed, ect.

A good part of that remaining 14% would be baritones and euphoniums listed as tubas.
King 1165 "Artist" baritone - Yamaha YEP-321S euphonium
'29 Holton Monster E-flat tuba - '37 Martin Indiana E-flat sousaphone
