I was also wondering about the Mammoth status.

Seller listed it in description in original post, and now highlights it in title.

Is 7 3/4" tenon Mammoth size? Would that put it on par with Giant rather than Jumbo?

My experience is minimal, but i am impressed with Martin sousaphones.

Mammoth is reportedly 7 7/8" (both the Martin Mammoth tuba and Martin Mammoth sousaphone, which seems odd to me - aren't sousaphone bells longer, than a typical (not Reynolds) tuba detachable bell, and hence would be narrower at the tenon, for the same assembled dimensions? Anyway, from Tubenet people who should know, 7 7/8".)

No second chance for the likes of us, i guess...

The relative tenon sizes is an interesting question.

My math instincts say that the theoretical ideal bell shape goes on forever, so the wider flare on a sousa may just cut of further on the same bell... My practical side says to swap bells and see how it affects the tuning. And the fact that the Boston tuba xmas is today tells me as usual i am woefully under prepared and have better things to occupy my mind.

Kudos again to the buyer, and even if you are reading this, no need to satisfy i voyerism, and i imagine there is nothing real to report anyway until you have received it.
