I'm guessing model 702, Upright Bass BBb Medium-Large Bore, 18" bell
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Beautiful instrument. Pistons look good and no objectionable dents. Would be great for an enthusiast to play in a concert band.

is there a record for a used 3-valve that this might break?

If an amateur player can pay $15K for a high end CC/BBb tuba and can pay $10K+ for an F tuba, they certainly can pay $3.5K+ for this. You'd be the bad dude in the concert band. To those with the untrained ear (your audience), you can rave how great York tubas sound. When you play (and as long as you don't sound like a**), they will think you sound wonderful because "York" is engraved on your bell.
Would "I"? Probably not. I don't have $3.5K+ to pay for something like this either.
