Are you saying the Helicons are hard to play? Because the smaller 3 valve and newer Russian horns (if in decent mechanical order) actually are really super easy to steer. Free blowing and responsive.

Depends upon what you mean by "hard to play". In my experience these Leningrad/St. Pete tubas are indeed free blowing and responsive (hence "fun to play").groth wrote:Tubby,

By "Hard to steer" I simply meant that intonation isn't exactly what might be called point and shoot.
