Just got a chance to look underneath the tape... The leadpipe is surprisingly fine with a minor crack that could use a patch.

The second valve slide is another story entirely... It looks like someone pulled on the ring too hard and almost ripped part of the slide off (tore the metal in the middle), and there is a screw (flathead) soldered in (probably thought the A's needed to pierce more?).

I still think it was more than worth the 300 bucks considering the work needed to be done isn't all too extensive and the body, excluding those areas, is in fairly good shape.

Oh, yeah... Worth 300 bones. Is it an Eb or a BBb?

Definitely in BBb. By the looks of that low-pitch MTS ("w" shaped), I'm going to guess that horn was made during Holton's Chicago years.

It also appears to be a 4/4 horn, probably .656 bore?
