Interesting reference. Harold Stassen once owned the house across the street from me when I lived in South St. Paul. My Aunt, who also lived on the block, knew him well. She ran into him in a department store taking his wife shopping, wearing a rug. She asked him why he still wore a toupee, his reply was, "my wife likes it." He resigned as Governor in MN to fight in WWII.

We used to have lots endearing politicians in Minnesota. They just don't make them like they used to.
