Re: Olds 4v
Yeah, with the "new" Olds it's hard to know who made them. For the right price it might be worth a look.

Re: Olds 4v
You can pick up more from old Tubenet threads. Klaus reported that Schenkelaars was using "Olds" in the '90s, and someone else confirmed that they were making euphoniums with an Olds label, and then were bought out by Adams. They were Dutch, and then there were clearly Czech tubas in there, and Taiwanese as well.
There's plenty of room on a tuba to engrave your name, along with the stencil label. I have a "H. Couf" sax, with "Armstrong" and "Keilwerth" also engraved on it. Wish there were more of that kind of thing, makers who aren't concealed behind veils of obscurity.

Re: Olds 4v
I wonder if it is any good? Anyone tried one?
interesting method of sticking a 4th valve on a three valved horn.
Certainly does not look like anything that came out of Fullerton, CA!

Re: Olds 4v
Not quite so eccentric a 4th valve, but i was also wondering if there was a similar tale behind this?

Re: Olds 4v
See the thread I linked to above. That eBay page is long gone but I believe the horn in question was similar to this one.
