I don't know about the fake ones, but when I go looking for tubas on eBay, I usually select "used" to get rid of all that "new" junk. Those Indian makers are getting wise to that, so now they're putting their "new" stock under used, and saying "only used once."

You just know the plumber who built it "played" a couple of notes to justify that.

I was in India some 8 years ago, and can attest that every brass instrument I tried made in India can best be described as noise maker, or artisanal plumbing. Maybe as air duct or distillery column as well. And they even miss out on white gloves.
