eBay has been an extreme disappointment in recent years. I'd rather find what I'm looking for in local want ads, but of course, tuba gear is rare locally.

eBay has just made me realize that buying new is usually the better deal in recent years.

I don't think this trend started with the stimulus. It has been a long time since eBay has become full of... mostly... overpriced crap. One must be VERY patient to find what you want at a decent price.

I wonder who the idiot is trying to hock those same 6-7 horns with $0.99 opening bid all the time? I mean, we've flagged him so much by now and he keeps posting them. If the horn actually got sold, how would he take the money if the Paypal account it goes to is the hijacked Ebay account?

He probably contacts his buyers outside of eBay and tries to get them to pay a different way from PayPal. That’s a common loophole for scammers.
