Getting logged out while writing PM

So the last three times I have tried to write a PM when I hit the send button it requires me to log in again thus deleting the message that I just wrote. This is getting old, what can I do to make this stop?

I've not experienced it on a PM, but on a regular post that I wanted to edit, but I didn't "save" it, I have been "timed out" and had to log in, losing the post as well. Now, when it's going to be a post of longer than a few lines, I type it in Notepad or such and cut and paste when finished, editing later after the posting.
