Sent Box= sent and read.
Not so in my system -- outbox = ready to be sent; sent = they've gone.
You're saying the same thing. Once you've "submitted", you're done on your end. When the message moves from the out to sent box, it's been read on the other end and is no longer hanging on the server.
But of course this is tubenet, where every thing is debated, on and on and on...
Not debating, but where I am and the way it works, it is different than what you have outlined. So, I simply pointed out that it worked differently than what you wrote. Whether or not the message has been read by the recipient has nothing to do with outbox or sent box. Thus my statement as above.
I think Craig is referring to the message system here on tubenet (or any phpBB board for that matter). It's like LV said, any message still in the 'outbox' hasn't been read or retrieved as yet by the recipient. Messages in the 'sent box' have been read or picked up. This message board is like the server.
I've seen a private message stay in my outbox for a couple of weeks before it's picked up.
