This question was posed, but then it disappeared so I am posting it again...
How come the guy who has the Val Kilmer photo as his AVATAR or little photo next to his nickname is so much bigger compared to the rest of us...
Does that question make sense?
anyway...
info please!

Right now it's 80x80. I tried 81 last night and got rejected. Rumor has it that Val--errr, I mean, Doc, just got lucky, and that Sean's been nice enough to let hime keep it.
I'm gonna keep trying, though

No, that's DocPUGH, not Doc. My guess: any avatar will work once it's in there, and Doc just happened to submit it while Sean was fiddling with the controls.

I know it isn't a resolution thing, because I tried to use Doc's avatar as my own--and it was rejected. Obviously, he just got really lucky, and gets to use a huge picture of a really good actor while I'm stuck with a small caricature of Dan Quayle.

It could be worse, you could be using a caricature of Spiro Agnew.

See, life can always get worse.
If it didn't have TIME scrawled across it, I might use this one...

yup

I think it has something to do with the three options. If you choose option one, it is pretty strict, but I have snuck my bigger photo past the barrier on the second two options, but then when I come back to it after logging off, it just shows the dreaded RED X.
Your three options are:
Upload Avatar from your machine:
Upload Avatar from a URL:
Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image, it will be copied to this site.
Link to off-site Avatar:
Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image you wish to link to.
So if anyone has any time on their hands, maybe they can come up with a way around it. If so, let me know, and we will be able to laugh at everyone's puny photo...if not...sigh...
