After a couple of incidents I removed editing and delete permissions. I thought I would try it for a while. If it turns out to be a bad move, then I can turn it back on.
Just giving it a try. I left permissions on in I believe the For Sale and eBay areas.

Yikes! This means I can't go back an edited my extremely rare, but extremely embarassing, grammar and spelling errots.
Seriously, I liked being able to correct typos, etc.

At least for 'editing' posts, we can now get more counts on posting!

I guess this means we will just have to be more careful before hitting the "Submit" button and live with any errors, or clarify in a further post.
I have long since used the spell checker on the Google toolbar to pick up my spelling errors, but have frequently edited immediately after posting when I have thought the grammar was bad, I was unclear, or on second thought considered what I wrote sounded rather dumb.
I have never noticed people deigning what they have previously posted, although have frequently seen "blanked out" posts which I find rather annoying, particular if I have gone back to a thread to reference - so am pleased this will stop those!

This should make for some entertaining posts!

In light of this, your signature image/animation is rather appropriate.

It will probably be that way for me too. I go back and edit my own posts for stupidity and the occasional spelling/grammar error.
Whee,

With all this happening, many people are saying that they'll just "use my spell-checker more often, do all web browsers come with on? I use mozilla Firefox and any help as to how/where the spelll checker is would be appreciated.

Should be a good spellchecker for firefox but I'm not sure on the details. Maybe somebody who actually knows something about this can give you the real answer.

That add-on
DOES work
extremely well. What you do, is when you type, the wrong words will have a red dotted line under them, and if you want, you can right click them, and it will suggest the correct spelling...for example, I have it, and it says that Captain Sousie has 'spellchecker' wrong, and says it should be 'spell checker'. Besides that, it also ironically has 'firefox' wrong, saying it should be 'Firefox', 'firebox', or 'fire fox', so as I said, it works almost too well..

I have used Firefox ever since IE7 installed on my PC (!) and the Google toolbar also works with Firefox - see

Firefox 2.0 underlines your misspellings in red. For example, when I quoted your post, "spelll" is underlined.

It says 'tubist' should be 'cubist'. So that makes it wrong

Is paying for Adobe Acrobat the only way to create PDF files if I'm working with a PC? Are there any free programs out there I can get my hands on?

Sheesh, I bet you guys use that rubbery thing on the end of your pencils, too!

It's where I hold my gum.

Hey, I resemble that remark! Except mine's one of the big pink parallogram shaped chunks, and my wife, with her professional printing background, actually has an electric one that looks like a small dremel with a pencil-shaped stick of white rubber you insert in the ferrule.

I'd like to step up in Sean's defense. I believe he has his reasons for all of the things he has done recently, e.g. food pics and the buttons. As a teacher, I too have to make unpopular decisions that will inconvenience many but in the end they are good for the whole group. I think Sean has been getting just a wee bit too much flack and, no offense to any here, whining coming his way. I am pretty sure it is getting to where he is very frustrated with all of the negative feedback and constant hammering on anything he does to regulate his board. We all may want our ball back, but if we give too much in the way of problems he might just take his ball and go home. Playful prodding is all well and good, but sometimes it can be like pouring lemon juice in a paper cut. I will now retreat back to the safety of my computer chair.

For those (including myself) that need to be trained to hit the "Preview" button first, here ya go!
