I seem to get a number of people who believe that just because a thread or a post within a thread is on this website somewhere that it must be considered appropriate.
This is a fallacy. Although this may come as a shock to some, I don't read the majority of stuff written here. I try to make an effort to keep up on subscription requests. I also tend to the financial upkeep of paying the bills and graciously accepting Sponsors' assistance in doing so.
But, I do not read most of the stuff here. I check in several times each day, usually briefly, to check the topic titles. Sometimes I read stuff, just like most people here do. Checkout what is interesting on the surface.
I also check out stuff which exhibits commonalities with previous problem threads. Stuff like topics with 5 pages of followup have usually either wandered way off topic or have become a pissing match. Also stuff which is highly likely to turn ugly fast with no constructive content. Examples are politics, religion, racism, sexism, etc.
But, I again do not read MOST of the stuff here, so I miss a lot of crud which does nothing to promote the discussion of music.
So if I DO happen to run across stuff which I believe diminishes the mission I have of civilized, thoughtful, and meaningful musical discussion I will feel free to remove it. This is regardless of whether the exact same BS might have been posted by someone else 2 weeks ago and is still floating around cause I did not notice it.
And for God's sake, unless you are being an intentional *** in a post, please don't take it as a personal attack on your character when something you wrote is deleted. I am just trying to drive the bus.
