Brian,

As 'elephant' suggests, make sure you have 'BBCode enabled' selected under your "Profile". This helps in seeing what you're actually entering. Even if you copy and paste from something, it shows up pretty close to the original... albeit, maybe and extra return here and there.

If you're using IE, you can download a free built-in spell checker called, "IE-spell". It works great and has no spyware. Once installed, you can 'right click' in the area you're typing (you'll see another window open), then highlight 'check spelling'.

For instance... "editer inaccuricy" gets changed to 'editor inaccuracy". :)

I am no IE fan (mainly on principle... ) but I use this feature ALL the time!!

(my copy asks me first, but it works, much as I hate to admit it)

There's a spell-checker for Firefox, too. It underlines a word in red as it's completed if the spelling is an issue. You simply right-click over the word to obtain suggested re-spellings.

The dictionary's quite extensive. I use this feature a lot, particularly before my first cup of coffee.

Yes, but remember: even the best spell checkers and context editors cannot distinguish your letters starting, "Dear friend," from those starting, "Dear Fiend."

Fortunately, I don't often receive the version I most deserve...
