Let me know how things are working out with the new software. Either use this thread or go into the Feedback forum.
Especially bugs, but any other suggestions you have.
Once I am pretty sure things are going smoothly I can move on to some other configuration adjustments for admins and moderators.

I'd be thrilled if it went straight from login to the forum index rather than telling me that I'm now logged in.

Sean,
I've not had good experiences with this software.
The old one is actually one of my favorites. If it had a good "print thread" function it's would be the best.
The print function is the only thing I like better in SMF (1.1.x)
vBulletin ( 3.6.8 ) is worse, though the newest phpBB is close.

If you wait 3 seconds or so after logging in it does just that.

Does appearance count at this point? The color scheme is really hard to read right now...my eyes are watering looking at the site. I don't know if it's the blue-on-blue, or the font, or the general brightness...but readability is greatly diminished over the old appearance.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Jeez, this is ugly. It's hard to read, and it wastes a ton of space on the desktop.
You may have a lot of great functions to add, and more power to you. I moderate three other boards, and I know that I appreciate additional functions and controls of the board, but visually this is a serious stinker.

might not be a bug, maybe just a size problem but some of the posted pics aren't fully showing up in posts such as:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27280
cheers!

I believe there is a setting to trim oversized images such as that one. I'll have to take a look around.

My 72 year old eyes are straining. How can I increase the font size and contrast?

Is it possible to still search the old TubeNet posts? I can't see the search box.

Does this software provide an RSS feed?

In the upper right hand corner there is a letter "A" with arrows on each side to adjust the font size... Also there is a print view which will make everything black & white which should work until Sean changes the style or colors...

The font resizing algorithm sucks. Each new screen displays first in the original microfont and then flips to the larger preferred-by-me size. Is there any way the font could actually be set larger instead of being manipulated on the fly like this?
On the other hand, I do appreciate the autotrim function for the oversize graphics. On the old system such images would throw then entire thread into scroll mode so viewers had to scroll to the right just to read the text. Posters of graphics need to learn to size them appropriately, and I suspect that they will do so after they see their oversized images can't be seen in their entirety. Oversized images should be linked to, not thrown inline, IMHO.

Is there a way to know if a new post has been made in a forum? The old one would change color letting me know it was worth visiting the forum again for a new post. This format seems to be all blue or light blue.
Thanks!

Just thought I would interject that the migration was an eventual necessity. phpBB2 was expiring at the end of the year and would have no more security fixes and the like. phpBB3 is the successor.
Just like when I installed the previous version, the immediate reaction is aesthetics. Mostly default font size. I'll get in there and play with it.
Everything is controlled with a style sheet so is controllable board wide. Just need to give everyone a few weeks to adapt before I change too much around. The font size might get changed earlier though.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to "ctrl+" to enlarge the font or "ctrl-" to reduce the font.

I'm an old guy, so I generally don't respond that well to change, however I'm sure I can adapt to the new format. It will just take a little getting used to.
