It would be really helpful if the For Sale forum was organizable by location of seller. That way, everyone would only have to look at the tubas for sale near them, or near where they are willing to go.

Bassclefbrass.com has something like this, and honestly, I rarely (if ever) use it. Sorting by the type/key of the horn though, that's very useful.

Maybe it would be possible to create "sub-forums" for each state or model/brand. I'm not familiar with how you would go about doing that though, so I'm not sure if it's possible.

A lot of people in the For Sale forum threads write in the thread "[item] is located in [city/state]", so you could run a Search, limit it only to the For Sale forum, and search for the area you are looking for. Not everyone does that, but many do.

Most people also put the brand/model in their threads, too, so just limit the seach to For Sale and search for what you want.

I should hope at least some of that info would be included. Take that out and we simply have "I am selling a tuba of some type, somewhere, for some amount of money. That is all."

Splitting the For Sale would make for sense by item then geography in my opinion. Like mouthpieces, horns, etc. At this time I think I'll just leave one big catchall.

Regarding geography, I think most stuff gets shipped anyways. Selling a tuba is tough enough nationally. Trying to limit it to locals makes it even more of a challenge.

Thanks for the feedback.

Now I will duck out of TubeNet for another 6 weeks. Schlep is da man.
