I know that "politics is discouraged" here, but is it allowed in our signature?

I think you have answered my question.
People with authority to enforce do not monitor this thread, and the policy will not be inforced uniformly.

There are currently over 4500 members on this board. The last thing I'm going to do is check and edit their signatures. I simply haven't got the time.

Politics does nothing more than to stir up hatred on Internet forums. There is enough hateful posts here without it.

I would prefer no hateful posts altogether. Some here think it is a badge of honor to be "that guy" who is "mean". I don't see it that way.

I have not been reading TubeNet for several months now. I got sick of it as did many others. I only poke my head in occasionally and this happened to be one of those moments.
