"For Sale" sub-categories

I would like to suggest that the "For Sale" section on these boards be broken down into sub-categories so as to make it easier for people to see what they are either selling or buying. My list of sub-categories would include BBb, CC, Eb, F tubas, euphoniums/baritones, mouthpieces, and other instruments.

Most folks here articulate their For Sale ads very well (the ones who slur don't get sold), so using the "Advanced search" function, you could narrow down the field very effectively.

I'd have to politely disagree. Most of the ads are really quite poor.

That should give the competitive advantage to those here who write good ads, right?

One would think (and there are some)! Seems like success would be sufficient "incorrigement" to the rest ...

About fifteen years ago I wrote a letter to the Southwest Airlines CEO suggesting that they establish "talking" and "non-talking" rows in their planes. I got a nice letter back from some mid-level manager saying that they thoroughly enjoyed my suggestion, but didn't think the publicity from such a move would be too positive.

I still think it is a good idea.

Even better idea. Find a way to organize the seating so that guys get seats next to attractive girls. People would pay big bucks...

He hounded her all the way out to the outdoor drive-up (ie: "...who the hell is this @$$h01&...?!?). I don't think I've ever seen her roll her eyes any farther than after he (eventually) walked away.
See - a "no talking" seat assignment would have been exactly what she needed!

I can't spell but something like that above would be nice.

Pretty simple for us users to implement, actually -- if you're selling something, put the general subcategory words you want people to find ("tuba", "euphonium", "Eb", "parts", etc.) in the Subject line of your topic, so the Advanced search can find them easily. If you're looking for something to buy, use the Advanced search to look for topics that contain the subcategory words (as above) that you're interested in. Sorta like a COBOL version of Systems Hungarian notation ...

They wouldn't have to move anything if they had the same search feature we have here! (and wouldn't that save us time and money? well, yeah, maybe not ... )

Subcategories? Let's see:
Euphs, baritones, trombones and others of similar pitch would be a category.
Eb & F tubas, and similarly pitched cimbassi and bass bones would be the sub category.
BBb & CC tubas would be the contra sub category.
