If I recall correctly, wasn't there a Sticky about "No More Politics" a while back, I haven't seen it in a while but it seems like it would be a great reminder for some of the members, and maybe a good introduction for some of the new members who might be oblivious to the different rules.
Just a thought, but it could help some topics not head in the direction they are heading...

Are you sure you can post this here and this shouldn't be posted in the Sponsors section?
PM, "Who feels that a simple welcome to the forum, don't do the following things, would help the new and not so new members and restrain members from acting as moderator and wasting pages of space on what should or shouldn't be written."

Yeah, if you want real poking, and not in fun, just go dialog with the DB guys at TalkBass. I do have to go over there occasionally to get some input on my DB playing, and when I'm done, all I want to do is come back here and pop open a beverage in the company of the TNFJ where the criticism, when it has to be made, is in good context, and no one is afraid to laugh at themselves.
There is a joke about how two trumpet players introduce themselves to each other: "Hi, I'm better than you."
I'm going to add to that how do DB players introduce themselves to each other, "Hi, you can't have my gig."
This is in contrast to most tuba players who introduce themselves by, "Hi, what beverage can I get for you?"

To keep from ruffling the wrong or too many feathers, perhaps in future one might consider locking the thread, deleting the offensive posts, and leaving a final message such as "this is getting ugly". Then nobody will have to guess (wrongly or rightly) why the action was taken, and no PM's will be required. Further, one could then know better what is and isn't allowed. I'm just sayin'... and I got no skin in the game!

Sounds reasonable to me.

I find all of this highly offensive!

No. It's a verb.

The title of this thread is also a verb, as in, "This Forum Rules!"
