If it might cause you problems, don't recommend TubeNet.

I use AdBlock and don't see any ads here. Not even the sponsor's ads...

I'll second using Adblock - it works great and completely eliminated all of the ads for me.

I haven't looked into the preferences to see if I can select the sites I want AdBlocked. I know that TubeNet works fine with AdBlock but sites with lots and lots of ads slow waaaay down when AdBlock is engaged.

I use Adblock and it works great. Also, the latest version of Firefox, 21.0,(I'm on a Mac) has a choice to open a new window or a new private window. When I choose NEW PRIVATE window there are absolutely no ads. Even the sponsors are blocked. They don't even appear on the Sponsors page.

Just my $.02

Ads are a fact of life in about any form of media. Someone has to pay the bills for what we assume is free. I just don't pay any attention to them. As far as making recommendations to young people.... I don't think I could even ordain a newspaper!

Why doesn't everyone use some sort of ad blocker (I realize it doesn't help with referrals but still!)??

The only way obnoxious advertising could completely disappear from TubeNet would be to adopt a user support system. All volunteer payments, subscriptions, donations, 'approved sponsors'. It would need to be administered and there's the rub. I think we will have to live with the obnoxious advertising or use an ad blocker to manage it for ourselves.

And it doesn't help that T.U.B.A. is an acronym for a medical procedure....
