Searching member list

I find it difficult to search the member list for specific people. With no search feature I often have to scroll through multiple pages to find someone, even if I know their ID.
Is there an easier way to search I don't know about?

profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2
profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=woodsheddin
Notice at the end of the URL I replace the u number with a username instead. You can plug anyone's username in there and bring up their profile.
As far as a member search, I would like that feature also.
