As a relatively recent poster, but long time lurker I (like others, apparently) never knew of the existence of these off-line (to most...) discussions. But, as an amature player and adjunct instructor/private teacher I'd really like take in as much useful information as I can from discussions with and between folks making a living at this trade/art. Is there the possibility of "read only" access? This could limit the type of immature postings previously mentioned and still provide access to -- what may or may not -- be good information to use as amatures or pass on to students?

I wasn't aware of the "professional" designation. I have been serving on active duty in the U.S. Army as a tuba player for the past 15 years.
