Possible phishing or something weird?

Hey there. I had a question about a post I had in the For Sale board come straight to my gmail account. Normally, they come through forum middle man. Was this spam/phishing/something nefarious? I can provide a screen shot of the email if needed. Thanks for the help. It seemed weird as its the first time it's happened.
