Grandpa told me that the Russian outfit that he fought with during WWI used to pass the stuff out for a time as antifreeze, which, of course, was drunk by the troops. He said the trick to drinking it was not to inhale while it was going down or you'd gag.

Eventually, the brass caught on to what the troops were doing and discontinued distribution. Grandpa told me that they filled the radiators of the trucks with brine then. Corroded things out in nothing flat, but this was war...

I don't know for whiskey, but vodka comes out 100% (200 proof) and is almost tasteless before flavour and water are added to get it down to 40 or 50%

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
