Earl McKee - Bypass Surgery

Post by IkeH »

My good friend Earl McKee, sousaphonist with the High Sierra Jazz Band is recouping from a 6 way bypass and if any of you know him, send a get well card or something. Here's a snippet from a note by bandleader Pieter Miejers:

I spoke to Earl today. He is doing very well and is walking, eating and drinking. He is relatively free of pain. except when coughing and laughing. He
expects to go home "in a couple of days." His doctor informed him that his recovery time will be approximately 6 weeks with no lifting of anything heavier than 5 lbs (and that includes sousaphones!).
His home address is: Earl McKee, P.O. Box 13, Three Rivers, CA 93271.

Best of luck to Earl. I had a five-way and they wrapped my breast bone in stainless steel wire after they cut it in half.
First time I drove a car, I threw it up in park with my other arm fully extended in front of me on the top of the wheel, and my chest oilcanned with a big ole pop. Weird!

I'll see his leader next month on a cruise and ask. Tune in later.

I went to my dentist the other day for my semi-annual cleaning and oil change and was greeted by a new hygenist. Turns out that Earl's her uncle!

If you see him, tell him that niece Kelly says "Hi".
