Looking for Canadian Brass- Unexplored Territories on CD
Does anyone know where I can get the Canandian Brass- Unexplored Territories on CD? I have the LP but would like it on CD. I know it's long out of print. Thanks!

You might wanna touch base with someone at their online store:
http://www.canbrass.com/contact.html
They oughtta be able to tell you for sure whether it's available on CD or not.

The material from Unexplored Territory does exist on CD, but it has been paired with another early CB release "Rag-Ma-Tazz." The new title is Encore, and is a CBC Musica Viva label. [CBC: MVCD1011]

For its time, the Don Gillis arrangements were rather clever. I haven't spoken with him in a number of years. Does anyone know what he is up to these days?
Hope this helps.

Got "ENCORE" last week, thanks!! Now I wish they would have the music on Unexplored Territories published, besides Just a Closer Walk, with rhythm. I would love to have a copy of the music for En Sueno, The Joust, and A Royal Firework from that album.

Unfortunately they are not published. (And some are no longer in the Canadian Brass' own library. I remeber checking, and in some cases the scores were gone and only parts remained (hand copied at that).)ai698 wrote:Got "ENCORE" last week, thanks!! One alternative -- try lifting them (transcribing) from the recording.
