Holton 'bone experts needed

Post by Alex F »

I seem to have acquired a Holton Collegiate tenor trombone from the mid 1950s, SN 281xxx (late 1955, early 1956). It has a .500 bore and a 7.5" bell. The problem is that I can't pin down a model number for this 'bone - it does not seem to fit any of the Holton specs for that period.

I'm wondering whether any of you experts might have an old Holton catalog from that period that might shed some light here. I've already searched and posted on the TromboneForun with no real results and can't seem to find anything else on the web. I know that collegiate horn were student instruments in the Holton line.

Please PM me if you have any info. Thanks
