I've heard about East meeting West. In Virginia, North meets South, and you don't have to go to the North Pole! Driving for hours South down I-81 from Pennsylvania, through West Virginia and into Virginia, I found myself driving North on I-77 without changing freeways!

I've been to East Alabama. I've been to West Alabama. There is a big difference.
I sometimes try very hard to give a hoot about other peoples dreams and aspirations. Occasionally I succeed. On rare occasions I can be some real help to them.
I've been lucky to have been helped along my way by a few key individuals. I try to never forget. If I can't help them in return, maybe I can pass some goodies down to a younger person.
We pronounce it Guf Coast

Eugene, Oregon is closer to Tokyo than it is to London--and it's about 1500 miles closer to Petropavlovsk than it is to London.

So why don't the air fares reflect that?
