Wondering if any other members here happen to also be avid mountain bikers?

Avid - maybe even rabid - I especially love riding single track in the dark this time of year and deep into the fall. Tonight I lost my light half way through the forest (forgot to charge it after my last ride). It gets really interesting when your ride becomes illuminated solely by moonlight and a penlight. Almost nailed a skunk that crossed no more than 5 feet in front of me and just made out the white stripe with the penlight at the last minute. Thought I was going to get nailed big time but he/she didn't spray - whew!

Last week when it was still in the 90's here I blew the rear tire on a small log next to a marshland at 10:30 PM. Nothing like a hot sweaty biker in the dark trying to change a tube with helmet lamp giving a bullseye to create a mosquito feeding frenzy! My singletrack steed is a neon yellow Litespeed with yellow/black Cane Creek wheels, SRAM gripshift and a real mishmash of parts from my parts bins over the years for everything else.

I am also a road and cyclocross rider - which adds up to about 5-6000 miles a year on the bike.

Was avid at one time... Just moved to the mountains of NY, and once I get my Cannondale trail worthy again I will surely be back in action... I just hope I get her running before it gets too cold to enjoy the scenery up here...
