Don't laugh: when I was working for a finance company a few years ago, one line of business they got into was the financing of manufactured and modular housing. Yes, you can purchase them. You can also purchase modular homes as a pick-and-choose out of catalogs, kind of like oversized lego sets: you pick your rooms and how you'd like them to fit together, pour a foundation, and they are delivered by truck, set in place, bolted together, including things like the electrical plugged together between rooms and water/gas/sewer hooked up at pre made joints, and the utilities lines are hooked up.
Be careful what you ask for: you may receive it in abundance.
I owe the IRS $1018 this year, so my stimulus package will reimburse me for what I had to initially pay out of pocket. I will have to increase my withholdings for 2008. My wife got a new job last year and made more $$$. Also my daughter turned 17 so we lost her $1000 child tax credit. Double Whammy !!! ouch!!!
If there is anything left, maybe I will look into a surround sound home theater system for my new flat screen TV.
