IRON MAN

Post by Brassdad »

Just come back from watching the movie. Lots of fun!

Good summer fun movie. I liked how they explained "Tony Starks" coming of age, and Robert Downey Jr. seemed in his element as the self absorbed (nah - no type casting) industrialist.

Minor disappointment with the "evil American industrialist" helping the jihadist slant, guess Hollywierd just has to get in some editorializing. Though the jihadists were well characterized. I've been to Baghram Afghanistan, and it they didn't film there, they either did some very convincing mats, or they found a perfect mirror location somewhere else.

I like the idea that Marvel is releasing the old comics, provided they don't look like the old TV versions. The new Batman series, Spiderman, Hulk were very good. The previews for the second installment of the Hulk looks promising. My son tells me that he's heard that there is consideration for doing a Thor movie.

Ending was well done. Liked how he "pulled it off".

I'm not a comic book fan, nor a super hero fan especially, but this WAS A GREAT MOVIE!

Warning, though...do NOT leave before the credits have ended. You'll miss a very interesting bit. Can't say any more.

I haven't seen this movie yet...I expect I will soon. Iron Man was never my favorite comic book, but I will give this a shot, just like I did the other comic book movies. Hopefully it turns out more like Spiderman, and less like X-Men (meh) and The Hulk (awful).

I have not seen this movie yet, but I will probably buy it on DVD. I like The Secret History by Donna Tartt, The Cruel Sea by Nicholas Monsarrat and The Walking Drum by Louis L'Amour.

Agree with the concept of the new Batman....What suprised me was the trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie. I was certian when I heard about it that Harrison Ford would have to be digitized.
Quite promising.
