ITEC 2008 Tuba Quartet Commission

This project involves 5 composers who have each composed a new Tuba Quartet for either the Willson Tuba Quartet or the Cosmopolitan Tuba Quartet. The composers involved are:

Lew Buckley
Elizabeth Raum*
James Woodward*
Barbara York*
Tony Zilincik

*to be premiered at ITEC

Each piece is approximately 10 minutes in length and represents what we feel will be a significant contribution to the Tuba Quartet repertoire. The pieces have been individually priced at $20.00, but as a special offer to our customers all 5 can purchased for $75.00 until August 1, 2008. If you will be attending IEI (http://www.euphonium.com/IEI2008Homepage.html" target="_blank) or ITEC 2008 http://www.iteaonline.org/ITEC2008/" target="_blank), this price will be available at the conferences. If these pieces are ordered through the website, they will ship on July 1, 2008.

In addition to the new tuba quartets, all five composers have agreed to compose two or more duets for Euphonium and Tuba. These duets will be compiled into a book and will sell for $20.00. 100% of all the sales from this duet book will go towards a future commissioning project to expand the repertoire of both the Euphonium and Tuba. In addition to the York Commissioning Project and the 5 new tuba quartets, along with Sotto Voce Cimarron Music Press has co-commissioned Anthony Plog to compose a Tuba Quartet piece. This piece is scheduled be released in the Fall of 2008.
